* LONDON AND BRITAIN NEED GROWTH IN THESE DIFFICULT TIMES.

Rescue London seeks better congestion management for London, the abolishing of the congestion charge , better and cheaper public transport combined with more car friendly policies, and more and cheaper parking in and bordering London to allow the economy to flourish and the choice of good and services that London is famous for to grow.

We are not aligned to any political party and never will be.

Rescue London went to support FairFuelUK on National Fair Fuel Day on 7th March 2012 at Westminster.

Replace Congestion Charge ... LONDON deserves better. Come and join us with your voice to achieve change.

  • We are now seeking support from those who believe in the aims we champion.

  • We are in the process of setting up a small secretariat to increase awareness of the need to encourage moves by central and local government, politicians and the private sector to better meet London’s needs, and get the message across to the policy makers and the media so that change takes place.

  • The economy, businesses of every size and the consumers of goods and services suffer badly at present due to transport policies, the Congestion Charge scheme and anti-car legislation. Cheaper and more suitable public transport is needed, as is facilitating car use when the alternatives don’t allow meeting needs. Do bus lanes help or hinder ? Should they be replaced by cycle lanes ?

  • Public transport needs the competition of private vehicles to keep prices down. There should be many more and far cheaper car parks in and bordering central London and on the ring roads at public transport hubs to encourage far more park and ride.

  • We will be lobbying the Treasury and local Boroughs. Subsidies and tax concessions need to be provided to encourage the amount of parking available and much cheaper parking, to free up the roads for public transport and for private vehicles, for when public transport isn't really an option.

  • We support lower pollution and the oil industries efforts to minimise emissions

www.rescuelondon.org.uk we are a small lobby group trying to add our voice to support the larger groups efforts to persuade.
The government to lower fuel duties in the interests of londoners, commuters, businesses, tourists, residents.
We also believe that congestion charging is a very blunt instrument to reduce congestion and pollution that seriously adversely affects the economy, employment and society at large.
Equally damaging are anti car policies, high public transport cost and high parking charges and fines.
Better and cheaper public transport, and more park and ride schemes and reasonably priced and available parking in towns and cities will combine to grow the economy, and lower pollution.
Reduce fuel duty, and examine the negative effects on the economy of congestion charging, high cost of public transport, Anti-car policies and limited availability of incentives to increase park and ride facilities on ring roads.
To encourage more parking in centres and less onerous level of parking charges and fines.
